Nelson (Madiba) Mandela (July 18, 1918 - December 5, 2013)
A true humanitarian. His life was a lesson in courage, humility, love, forgiveness and patience.
He fought the good fight, and taught us to care for all not just for self and to forgive, because it frees you. May peace find you. Your work has been completed. Let us pick up and carry it on.
Well I’m fucked
Mandela fought against apartheid for decades, spent twenty-seven years in prison for his work, and was eventually elected President of South Africa in 1994. In 1993 he and F.W. de Klerk received the Nobel Peace Prize “for their work for the peaceful termination of the apartheid regime, and for laying the foundations for a new democratic South Africa”.
The former South African president died today at age 95. Remember him through his uplifting and revolutionary words.
Do you some nights just decide to look out your window or go to your balcony look up at the sky and say “There’s so many beautiful stars tonight…” and imagine somebody would understand what you meant?
Every day, I wake up knowing that the more people I try to save, the more enemies I will make. And it’s just a matter of time before I face those with more power than I can overcome.' [x]
"People write about harry all the time in a negative way with all his love life and stuff like that. But like he does stuff like that a lot like, you know, the pizza senario. And I think you know, it’d nice to get it out there that he’s actually a pretty genuine dude." - Ed Sheeran
